The data represent the percentage of DENV antigen positive over the total of cells counted. Note that only 43.4% of the cells were positive for viral antigen in BALB/c mouse macrophage infected with 1 MOI, 24 hours p.i., but almost all the cells presented DNA degradation. Two animals were used from each species; two groups of independent cells were seeded for each animal and two replicates were done for each of them in immunocytochemistry and TUNEL assays ( 𝑛 = 8 ).
