Case-finding approach for high risk patients based on The Endocrine Society 2012 [11] and American Thyroid Association 2011 [12] guidelines.

Targeted case finding criteria:

(1) Age > 30 years

(2) Personal history of thyroid dysfunction

(3) Prior head or neck irradiation

(4) Prior thyroid surgery

(5) Family history

(6) Symptoms

(7) Presence of Goiter

(8) TPO Ab positivity

(9) Autoimmunity

(10) Infertility

(11) Miscarriage or preterm delivery

(12) Iodine deficient population

(13) Medications and iodinated contrast media*

(14) Morbid obesity (BMI > 40 kg/m²)*
