Concentrations of inflammatory cytokines in the cortex of sham and injured Nrf2 (+/+) and Nrf2 (−/−) mice. Concentrations of (a) TNF-α, (b) IL-1β, and (c) IL-6 were determined by ELISA in the brain samples of Nrf2 (+/+) and Nrf2 (−/−) mice 24 hours after TBI. The figure indicates that concentrations of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 in brain were significantly increased after TBI and were greater in Nrf2 (−/−) mice than in Nrf2 (+/+) mice.
