(a) MIF and CD74 mRNA expressions in isolated urothelial cells. Total RNA was isolated from urothelial cells and CD74 or MIF-specific primers used to amplify mRNA by endpoint PCR. A CD74 and MIF mRNA is increased in isolated urothelial cells after SP treatment. Data are representative of 5 salines and 5 SP-treated animals. 18S rRNA was used as a control for the amount of total RNA added to each reaction tube.
