Effects of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor on Local Inflammation in Experimental Stroke of Rat

Figure 7

BDNF enhancing DNA-binding activity of NF-κB The DNA-binding activity of NF-κB in ischemic cortex in three groups was measured using Electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) 6 h and 24 h after reperfusion. Levels of NFκB DNA binding activity were expressed as arbitrary densitometric units (AU.) using Image J. Exogenous BDNF increased the activity of NF-κB 6 h and 24 h after reperfusion. Inhibition of endogenous BDNF by its antibody significantly decreased the activity 6 h after reperfusion. Bars represent mean ± SD ( 𝑛 = 6 ). 𝑃 < . 0 5 versus control group, # 𝑃 < . 0 5 versus BDNF group.
