Inhibition of α7-nAChR abrogates nicotine’s anti-TLR2 inhibitory effect. CFTE29o- cells (/mL) were left untreated or treated d-tubocurarine (d-tub, 100 M) or α-bungarotoxin (α-bgt, 1 M) for 16 h. Nicotine was added as indicated at 10 M for 1 hour. Following this, some samples were stimulated with Pam3 (1 g/mL, 24 hours) and levels of IL-8 in supernatants were measured by ELISA (* and , * versus control, or ns versus Pam3). Assays were performed in triplicate .
