The mRNA levels of NF-κB downstream genes were detected by real-time PCR in Hb-incubated neurons. (a) IL-1β gene expression was increased significantly in 12 h and 48 h groups, which showed a biphasic increasing. (b) TNF-α gene was dramatically elevated in the groups after 1 hour. There were two TNF-α expression peaks in 3 h and 12 h groups.
