Recombinant FSTL1 inhibits insulin signaling in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. Differentiated 3T3-L1 adipocytes were treated with recombinant mouse FSTL1 (100 or 200 ng/mL) or vehicle for 24 h and subsequently stimulated with 100 nM insulin for 10 min. (a) Phosphorylation of Akt (Ser473) and IRS-1 (Tyr612) was assessed by Western blot analysis. (b) and (c) Intensity of bands was quantified by densitometry and expressed as ratio of phosphorylated to total protein. The ratio was normalized to control.
