PhosphoFoxO1 (a), total FoxO1 (b), and FoxO1 mRNA levels (c) in gastrocnemius muscle of control, LPS and pair-fed (PF) rats treated with αMSH (100 μg/kg) or saline. LPS decreased pFoxO1 , whereas it increased FoxO1 and FoxO1 mRNA in rats treated with saline. αMSH administration prevented LPS-induced increase in FoxO1 and its mRNA.
