Amyloidosis, Inflammation, and Oxidative Stress in the Heart of an Alkaptonuric Patient

<table><i>Evaluation of SAA and the profile of proinflammatory cytokines in the plasma from AKU patient. </i>SAA plasma levels were evaluated by ELISA while cytokines were assayed by Bioplex. A comparison with levels found in a pool of plasma from 15 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients is also reported. Experiments were performed in triplicate; data are presented as average values ± standard deviation.</table>
