Effects of Low-Level Laser Therapy on M1-Related Cytokine Expression in Monocytes via Histone Modification

Effect of LLLT on M1-related chemokine and cytokine mRNA expression in THP-1 cells using real-time PCR analysis. M1-related chemokines CCL2 and CXCL10 expression was enhanced by 660 nm (1-2 J/cm²) and 808 nm (2 J/cm²) LLLT ((a) and (b)). However, 3 J/cm² of LLLT (660 and 808 nm) suppressed CCL-2 expression in THP-1 cells. CXCL-10 mRNA expression was enhanced by 660 nm LLLT but was suppressed by 808 nm LLLT ((c) and (d)). TNF-α was also enhanced by 660 nm LLLT but was suppressed by 808 nm LLLT 24 hours after irradiation ((e) and (f)). ^∗𝑃<0.05; ^∗∗𝑃<0.01; and ^∗∗∗𝑃<0.001 between control and LLLT treatment.
