RT-PCR analysis for caspase 3 and caspase 8. Caspase 3 and caspase 8 in ocular tissue following treatment with BF-5m (0.01; 0.05; 0.1 μM/rat). Total RNA was extracted from the eye of vehicles, LPS, and BF-5m rats and reverse transcribed into cDNA using Superscript reverse transcriptase system. The expression of caspase 3 and caspase 8 was quantified by qPCR using commercially available rat primers. HPRT was used as internal control. Results are expressed as arbitrary units based on calculation of method. Relative amount of target genes were normalized to HPRT and to vehicle. Results are expressed as the mean ± SEM of observations for each group. and versus LPS-treated rats; versus vehicle saline group.
