TGF-Beta Blockade Increases Renal Inflammation Caused by the C-Terminal Module of the CCN2

TGF-β neutralization increases CCN2(IV)-induced renal inflammatory response. The inflammatory cell infiltration was characterized in paraffin-embedded renal sections by immunohistochemistry with anti-F4/80 (specific for monocyte/macrophage), anti-CD3 (T lymphocyte marker), and anti-CD4 (effector lymphocyte T marker) antibodies.
