Cocaine intake causes severe liver injury and malfunction. (a) Liver confocal intravital microscopy showing that while control mice have a well perfused liver vasculature (evidenced by PE-anti-CD31 antibody staining, in red) and absence of necrosis (in green), cocaine-treated mice had several dark areas in the red channel, which are suggestive of malperfusion caused by necrosis (elicited by DNA staining using Sytox Green).
