The protective mechanisms involved in the inflammatory response of renal tissues during severe acute pancreatitis. Hydrogen-rich saline protects the acute renal injury by antioxidant effect directly and by scavenging the overproduced •OH and ONOO− to inhibit the activation of NF-κB.
