P-Selectin Targeted Dexamethasone-Loaded Lipid Nanoemulsions: A Novel Therapy to Reduce Vascular Inflammation

Localization of fluorescently labeled nontargeted or P-selectin targeted lipid nanoemulsions (LN and PLN, resp.) in different organs of C57BL/6 mice at 1 hour after i.v. administration in animals that were previously i.v. injected with PBS (control) or LPS (to induce systemic inflammation). The organs were visualized by an IVIS imaging system Caliper 200 at = 535 nm and = 620 nm (a). The quantification of nanoemulsions accumulation in the investigated organs was done using region-of-interest (ROI) function of Living Image software (b). Values are shown as radiant efficiency per tissue weight (mean ± SD). Three to five animals were used for each experimental group. , statistically significant.
