Activation of Melanocortin Receptors MC<sub>1</sub> and MC<sub>5</sub> Attenuates Retinal Damage in Experimental Diabetic Retinopathy

<div>Representative FAGs after intravitreal MC<sub>3</sub>-MC<sub>4</sub> receptor antagonist SHU9119, and MTII, MC<sub>3</sub>-MC<sub>4</sub> receptor agonist in diabetic mice with retinopathy. Evident was a progressive increase of the vessel irregularity during the follow-up without microvascular abnormalities or vessel leakage.
