Immunoblotting of vitamin D receptor (VDR) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ). (a) Immunoblot of proteins was probed with specific antibodies and visualized by ECL in a patient with anorexia nervosa and normal level of vitamin D3 (C1), a patient with bulimia nervosa and slightly reduced level of vitamin D3 (C2), a patient with anorexia nervosa and very low level of vitamin D3 (Ex1), and a patient with bulimia nervosa and very low level of vitamin D3 (Ex2). Apparent molecular weight was calculated according to the migration of molecular size standards. (b) The area density was calculated with Scion Image programme on densitometry scanning; the data represent the mean ± SD of three experiments performed in duplicate.
