Agarose gel electrophoresis of 5-HTTLPR polymorphism amplified by PCR. The two patients with very low level of vitamin D3, E1, and E2 bear the short allele (S). The two control patients are instead homozygous for the long allele (L). The molecular weight of the corresponding bands is calculated according to the migration of molecular size standards (see Section 2).
