Catalase inhibition accelerates inflammation in RAW264.7 macrophages. RAW264.7 cells were treated for 6 h with 0, 1, 2, 5, and 10 mM 3-AT. (a) JNK phosphorylation was quantified by western blot (upper panel) and densitometry (lower panel). (b) IL-1β, (c) IL-6, and (d) TNF-α mRNA levels were measured by real-time PCR. (e) JNK phosphorylation was also determined by western blot (upper panel) and densitometry (lower panel) in cells treated with 0, 1, 2, 5, and 10 mM 3-AT 1 h prior to stimulation with 200 μM PA for 6 h.
