Chemokines (CCL3, CCL4, and CCL5) Inhibit ATP-Induced Release of IL-1β by Monocytic Cells

Figure 2

CCL3 inhibits ATP-induced IL-1β release by human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). Blood from healthy volunteers was pulsed with 0.5 ng LPS/ml before purification of PBMC. PBMC were cultured for 3 h, and 2′(3′)-O-(4-benzoylbenzoyl)adenosine-5′-triphosphate (BzATP; 100 μM) was added for 30 min in the presence or absence of CCL3 (10 ng/ml). IL-1β was measured in cell culture supernatants, and the values obtained in the supernatants of cells treated with LPS and BzATP were set to 100%. Data are presented as individual data points, bars indicate median, and whiskers percentiles are 25 and 75; .
