Proinflammatory Cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α Increased Telomerase Activity through NF-κB/STAT1/STAT3 Activation, and Withaferin A Inhibited the Signaling in Colorectal Cancer Cells

<div>IL-6 activated STAT3 (Tyr 705) and TNF-α activated STAT1 (Tyr 701) in human colorectal cancer cells. We investigated the receptor tyrosine kinase phosphorylation with IL-6 and TNF-α treatments in DLD1 and HT-29. (a) When DLD1 cell was treated with IL-6 (10 ng/ml), STAT3 was activated. TNF-α treatment activated STAT1 (Tyr 701). IL-6 and TNF-α cotreatments activated both STAT1 and STAT3. (b) HT-29 was treated with TNF-α and IL-6. TNF-α treatments activated STAT1 (Tyr 701). IL-6 treatment activated STAT3 (Tyr 705).</div>
