Characterization of Site-Specific Phosphorylation of NF-κB p65 in Retinal Cells in Response to High Glucose and Cytokine Polarization

mRNA expression levels of NF-κB regulated inflammatory genes after high glucose exposure and pro- versus anti-inflammatory cytokine treatment in HREC. Cells were cultured under normal-glucose (NG, 5 mM) and high-glucose (HG, 25 mM) conditions followed by TNF-α and IL-1β versus IL-4 treatment. mRNA levels of ICAM-1 (a), VCAM-1 (b), IL-1β (c), IL-6 (d), IL-8 (e), IL-10 (f), TNF-α (g), CXCL-11 (h), CCL-23 (i), COX-2 (j), and BAX (k) were detected by real-time RT-PCR over time.
