Intrauterine Malnutrition Reduced Long Leptin Receptor Isoform Expression and Proinflammatory Cytokine Production in Male Rat Pulmonary Endothelial Cells Stimulated by Lipopolysaccharide

<div>Effect of leptin on LPS-induced cytokine secretion into the supernatants of pulmonary endothelial cells. (a) Interleukin-1<i>β</i> (IL-1<i>β</i>) and (b) interleukin-6 (IL-6) were quantified in the supernatants of pulmonary endothelial cells 6 h after stimulus with LPS and/or leptin by multiplex assays as described in Materials and Methods. Cells were obtained from 8 male Wistar rats selected randomly from 6 different litters per group.
