Interleukin- (IL-) 8 concentration of runners with different levels of carbohydrate intake. The runners were divided in 4 groups in accordance with carbohydrate intake: <3 g/kg/day (17 runners), 3-4 g/kg/day (11 runners), 4-5 g/kg/day (8 runners), and >5 g/kg/day (12 runners).
