Treatment with a Zinc Metalloprotease Purified from Bothrops moojeni Snake Venom (BmooMP-Alpha-I) Reduces the Inflammation in an Experimental Model of Dextran Sulfate Sodium-Induced Colitis
Figure 4
Histological characteristics of the colon from mice obtained at day 6 after induction of the DSS colitis model in comparison with those of the controls. H&E staining was performed on colon sections obtained from mice belonging to the following groups: (a) negative control group (no DSS), (b) positive control group (50 μg BmooMP-alpha-I), (c) model group (3% DSS), and (d) treated group (3% DSS + 50 μg BmooMP-alpha-I). Images were obtained at 10x magnification with an FSX100 Olympus Microscope. The square demonstrates the loss of tissue architecture and cell infiltration. The arrows indicate the goblet cells.
