Mibefradil and Flunarizine, Two T-Type Calcium Channel Inhibitors, Protect Mice against Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Acute Lung Injury

Figure 2

Mibefradil decreased total protein concentration in BALF and inhibited Evans blue extravasation in lung tissue. Mibefradil (20 and 40 mg/kg) was administrated 30 min before LPS exposure. Mice were sacrificed 6 h after LPS challenge and bronchoalveolar lavage was processed. (a) The concentration of total protein in BALF was measured. (b) Evans blue dye (30 mL/kg, ) was injected 0.5 h before sacrifice. Evans blue accumulation in the lung tissue was examined to test pulmonary vascular permeability. All values are (). #, significant compared with vehicle-treated control; , significant compared with LPS alone; , significant compared with LPS alone.
