Global Transcriptional Profiling Reveals Novel Autocrine Functions of Interleukin 6 in Human Vascular Endothelial Cells

<div>siRNA-mediated knockdown of interleukin 6 (IL6) in human vascular endothelial cells (HUVECs). Knockdown was performed in the presence and absence of the soluble IL6 receptor (sIL6R<i>α</i>) (100 ng/ml). The release of IL6 into the cell culture medium was measured using ELISA 48 h after siRNA was introduced.
