Gene expression of inflammasome components and cytokines do not correlate with the IL-18 : IL-1β ratio. The relative mRNA expression of IL1B (a), IL18 (b), and the NLRP3 inflammasome components (c) NLRP3, ASC, and CASP1 as well as CASP8 were measured 24 h after cells primed with LPS were stimulated with ATP, chitosan, or SiO₂ using qPCR. NF-κB activation was detected indirectly by measuring the activation of the reporter gene SEAP (d). Controls were treated with LPS alone. Data are shown as from six individual experiments. ; .
