Big Data-Based Decision Making for Complex Information Systems
Description
The rapid development of information and communication technology has brought about a rapid growth in digitized big data, which has also brought significant attention to big data analytics for complex information systems, for which the decision-making process of organizations, human beings, and machines regarding information system behavior and mechanisms are the main issues. Big data technologies are reshaping how complex information systems make decisions, and the importance of big data-based decision making has been widely recognized. Big data-based decision making can substantially revamp the decision quality of complex information systems. Therefore, understanding how to effectively implement big data-based decision making in complex information systems is essential.
However, there are still many challenges in applying big data-based decision making to complex information systems, such as mobile information systems, management information systems, or transactional processing systems, among others. Firstly, there are a large number of elements in the complex information system, and traditional decision-making methods cannot effectively deal with the big data associated with these system elements. Secondly, complex information systems are always multi-dimensional and dynamic, which makes big data-driven decision-making processes much more intricate and indescribable. Therefore, in order to address the above challenges, the key is to further develop big data-based decision-making theories and technologies for complex information systems.
The aim of this Special Issue is to bring together original research and review articles about new theories, technologies, and practices of big data-based decision making to improve the competitive advantage of complex information systems.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Theoretical foundations of big data-based decision making for complex information systems
- The effect of new big data analytics usage on decision-making quality in complex information systems
- Applications of big data-based decision making to improve the running processes of complex information systems
- Hybrid big data-based decision-making models for real-world problems in complex information systems
- Data mining and machine learning approaches for big data-based decision making in complex information systems.
- Intelligent testing and evaluation methods based on big data for complex information system behaviors
- Big data-based monitoring, assessment, prediction, and management of complex information systems
