Intelligent Multi-Source Data Aggregation for Mobile Grid Systems

Description

In recent years, there has been great progress in the development of mobile information systems due to rapidly developing wireless communication and data processing techniques, which has inspired many applications such as industrial internet of things, smart grid networks, and video monitoring. A key characteristic in the mobile grid systems is that the data often comes from multiple sources, such as radar signals, wireless transmission signals, and WiFi signals. Hence, it is of vital importance to aggregate the data from multiple sources in order to analyze the data and give an intelligent decision. Multi-source data aggregation has become a critical research topic in mobile grid systems and requires some advanced techniques in wireless communication and advanced data processing.

However, there are still several critical challenges in intelligent multi-source data aggregation for mobile grid systems. One challenge is that the system performance evaluation becomes much more complicated due to the multi-source signals. Hence, an intelligent analysis approach should be developed to analyze the system performance of multi-source data aggregation. One other challenge is that conventional design strategies are mainly focused on signals from a single source, which is not applicable to multi-source data aggregation. Hence, some intelligent cross-layer design strategies should be devised to fully exploit the benefits of multi-source data aggregation. Another challenge is that some intelligent system resource management schemes should be developed for the multi-source data aggregation in mobile grid systems.

To address the above major challenges in intelligent multi-source data aggregation for mobile grid systems, this Special Issue aims to provide a new comprehensive overview of new ideas in intelligent multi-source data aggregation.
