Step 1. The element at i-th row j-th column in the matrix is denoted as . And the largest element in column
1 of is recorded as ;
Step 2. In column 2 of , the element is summed with each element above (including )
in column 1, respectively. The maximum sum is denoted as , which then replaces in A. Finally, the largest
one of the elements is marked as ;
Step 3. In column 3 of , the element is summed with each element above (including )
in column 2 respectively. And the maximum sum is denoted by , which then replaces in . Similarly, the
largest one of the elements is labeled as ;
Step 4. Similar to the Step 4, the elements in columns from 4 to 9 in are sequentially updated. The resulting
matrix is denoted as B, as shown in Table 2. Then the largest element in each column of B is respectively recorded
as ;
Step 5. Connect the elements (bold elements), and we get the curve shown in Figure 2(a).
