Control of Networked Systems with Engineering Applications 2020

Description

The study of complex network topology and modeling is to understand the influence of network structure on its function and consequently to find effective ways to improve network performance. In practice, directly control every node in a dynamical network with a huge number of nodes might be impossible but might also not be necessary. Therefore, the control strategy is very important for the control of networked systems. Control of networked systems problems has attracted much attention among researchers in biology, physics, control engineering, and computer science for decades, partially due to the broad applications of control of networked systems in many engineering areas including cooperative control of mobile robots and estimation of mobile sensor networks.

The objective of this Special Issue is to provide an opportunity for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their latest theoretical and technological achievements in the control of networked systems. All the submissions are expected to have original ideas and new approaches. Papers presenting newly emerging fields are especially welcome.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Synchronization and consensus of networked systems
  • Distributed nonlinear observer design
  • Distributed and decentralized control
  • Coordination and cooperation
  • Sensor networks
  • Flocking of multi-agent systems
  • Complex dynamical networks
  • Real world applications of networked systems
