Description

In a modern technological society, engineers and designers must work together with a variety of other professionals in their quest to find systems solutions to complex problems. Fast advances in science and technology have broadened the horizons of engineering whilst simultaneously creating a multitude of challenging problems in every aspect of modern life.

Current research is interdisciplinary in nature, reflecting a combination of concepts and methods that often span several areas of mathematics, electrical engineering, control engineering, and other scientific disciplines. This research often combines theoretical models with mathematical simulations to solve problems or make predictions that may be used to design for industry or everyday life. In addition, the booming economic development in the world, particularly the leading manufacturing industries of automobiles, computers, communication, and smart sensors on the application of internet of things (IoT) have attracted increased attention among universities, research institutions, and many industrial corporations.

The main goal of this Special Issue is to publish research related to mathematical problems of applied system innovation on the application of IoT with a focus on smart manufacturing new and emerging technologies. It aims to highlight new scientific knowledge relevant to designs of the future, to enhance technological development in a range of industries, and to improve the welfare of people. We invite investigators to contribute their original research and review articles to this Special Issue.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Mathematical problems of applied system innovations for IoT applications
  • Mathematical simulation and problems in the design of smart sensors
  • Semantic computing in IoT
  • Mathematical problems of sensing techniques in IoT
  • Mathematical problems of communication techniques in IoT
