Safety Technologies and Fault Tolerant Methods for Engineering

Description

Safety is the most important requirement in any engineering project, including process control engineering, automotive engineering, power system engineering, cyber engineering, digital twin engineering, intelligent traffic engineering, intelligent manufacturing engineering, and large-scale equipment.

Engineering projects face many challenges such as actuator failure, sensor failure, component failure, topology failure, communication failure, cyber-attack, partial failure, and intermittent failure, which impose increasingly fundamental requirements on mathematic theory and mathematic method in engineering.

To cope with these challenges, this Special Issue aims to collate original research and review articles which focus on developing novel theories and technologies in the viewpoint of safety technologies and fault-tolerant control for engineering. Papers including theoretical innovation or engineering practical applications are especially encouraged.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Safety mathematic theory for engineering
  • Adaptive control for engineering
  • Data-based fault tolerance for engineering
  • Cyber-based fault tolerance for engineering
  • Fault diagnosis for engineering
  • Fault-tolerant control for engineering
  • Safety control for engineering
  • Redundancy theory and methods for engineering
