Parameter study of the wall roughness in the tailrace channel showing the development of the velocity profile at two different cross-sections for three different roughness values. The characteristics of the flow change completely when the equivalent sand-grain roughness increases from 0.0 to 0.3 m increasing it further to 0.5 m giving no noticeable additional effect.
