TLR7, CTSS, and CTSC mRNA are significantly upregulated, and C1QTNF7 and TNFRSF1A mRNA are significantly downregulated in the anterior lumbar spinal cord in ALS; a tendency to increase is also observed for IL10RA, TGFB1, and TGFB2. IL6 is significantly upregulated and IL1B shows a trend to increase in the frontal cortex area 8 in ALS compared to controls.
