Treatment with glutamate resulted in the reduction of p-AKT, Bcl-2, and elevation of Bax. Pretreatment with 500 μM edaravone protected SGNs by reversing these changes. Meanwhile, LY294002 eliminated the protection effect of edaravone. Statistical analyses were carried out among different groups. .
