Dynamic Changes in Local Protein Synthetic Machinery in Regenerating Central Nervous System Axons after Spinal Cord Injury

Translational machinery in reinjured and actively growing axons is comparable. Graphs (a)–(e) show quantification of relative immunolabeling intensity for the subtracted axon-only signals for 4EBP1, p4EBP1, eIF2α, peIF2α, and pS6, respectively. Data are expressed as fold change in signal intensity after reinjury at 7-week compared with 3-week PNGs ± SD, using Holm-Šídák post hoc test. No significant differences were seen between the two groups; however the levels of pS6 between the two groups trended towards significance ().
