Postoperative respiratory failure and myasthenic crisis after thymectomy: postoperative respiratory failure and myasthenic crisis occurred only in a patient (0.9%) in preoperative steroid treatment group but did occur in 6 patients (10.3%) in no preoperative steroid treatment group during intraoperative period (, χ 2-test).
