Additional file 2 contains the details of the methodological quality assessment conducted on all 42 studies included in the review. Additional file 3 provides a summary of findings with respect to the relationship between job satisfaction and individual and organizational factors that were assessed less than 4 times. Factors assessed 4 or more times are presented in the body of the paper.
