Caspase 3 activity in SH-SY5Y (a) and HL-60 (b) cells was evaluated in the presence of 1 mg/mL steviol glycosides incubated for 24 hours. Staurosporine (Stauro, 1 μg/mL for 4 hours) was used as positive control. Caspase 3 activity was measured spectrofluorimetrically after 24 hours in cell lysates as reported in Section 2. Each column represents the mean ± SD of three independent experiments. Statistical analysis was performed by Bonferroni multiple comparison test following one-way ANOVA. *, significantly different from control cells.
