Magnolia Extract (BL153) Ameliorates Kidney Damage in a High Fat Diet-Induced Obesity Mouse Model

BL153 prevented obesity-induced renal functional changes. Male C57/BL6/J mice at 8 weeks of age were fed either a LFD (10% kcal as fat) or a HFD (60% kcal as fat) with or without indicated dose of BL153 (2.5 mg/kg, 5 mg/kg or 10 mg/kg) for 6 months. Urine samples were collected and then all mice were sacrificed for study. Urinary albumin and creatinine levels were examined to reflect renal function. ; versus LFD group; versus HFD group.
