Metallothionein-II Inhibits Lipid Peroxidation and Improves Functional Recovery after Transient Brain Ischemia and Reperfusion in Rats

<table>Percentage of tissue area damaged at the level of hippocampus evaluated 72 hours after transient cerebral ischemia and reperfusion. I/R: animals with ischemia and treated with a vehicle; I/R + MT animals with ischemia and treatment with MT-II at a dose of 10 <i>μ</i>g per rat dissolved in 250 <i>μ</i>L of saline solution i.p.
