Neuroprotective Effect of Brassica oleracea Sprouts Crude Juice in a Cellular Model of Alzheimer’s Disease

Effect of broccoli sprouts juices on Aβ_25–35-induced mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm) depletion. SH-SY5Y cells were incubated with 25 μM Aβ_25–35 in the presence or in the absence of 10 μL/mL of juice A or juice B for 1, 4, 7, 24, 48, and 72 h. After treatment the cells were stained with JC-1 and analyzed by flow cytometry. The ΔΨm is proportional to the ratio between red and green fluorescence of the mitochondrial probe JC-1 and is expressed as a percentage of the control.
