Experimental Colitis Is Attenuated by Cardioprotective Diet Supplementation That Reduces Oxidative Stress, Inflammation, and Mucosal Damage

Corabion diminishes the production of certain proinflammatory cytokines. RNA was isolated and cDNA was synthesized from colons of the mice of the experimental groups: control, colitis, and colitis + corabion. Production of IL1, IL6, IFN-, and KC mRNAs as measure of an early inflammatory response was determined by RT-PCR. -actin was used as housekeeping gene. Pixel intensities as measured using Image J are indicated below each band. Representative images of triplicates from three animals per group are shown.
