Mitochondrial respiration and ATP concentrations as measured with O2k from Oroboros and ATP fluorometric assay. Respiration rates and RCR of Wistar and GK SMCs were measured after a 4-hour incubation with normal (5 mM, NG) or high (25 mM, HG) glucose, Wistar ( for NG and for HG), or GK ( for NG and for HG) cells, passages 8–10. ATP concentrations (µM/1 × 106 cells) are between Wistar () and GK ().
