Effect of kidney ischemia-reperfusion on kidney and liver function. The left kidney of rats was subjected to 45 min ischemia followed by 6 h reperfusion (IR). As a control, rats were subjected to a sham operation without inducing ischemia (Sham). Plasma creatinine (a), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) (b), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) (c) were measured. Results are expressed as mean ± SE ( for each group). when compared with the value obtained from the sham-operated group.
