In vitro OSCN⁻ production system (modified from [9]). When only β-D-glucose and glucose oxidase (GOX) are added into the system using airway epithelial cells (H292 cells), H₂O₂ is generated (a). When more SCN⁻ and LPO are added, H₂O₂ is catalyzed into OSCN⁻ (b). Thus, in this system, the oxidative activities of H₂O₂ and OSCN⁻ can be estimated with or without addition of SCN⁻ and LPO.
