Generation and Bioenergetic Profiles of Cybrids with East Asian mtDNA Haplogroups

<div>Respiratory chain complex III protein expression is higher in haplogroup M than in haplogroup N. Whole cell extracts of mitochondrial respiratory complex from 21 cybrid cell lines were solubilized in Triton-100 at a final concentration of 2% and subjected to blue native PAGE/immunoblot analysis. Complex I, complex II, complex III, complex IV, and complex V proteins were detected with antibodies against gene associated with retinoic-interferon-induced mortality (Grim19), succinate dehydrogenase complex, subunit (SDHA), ubiquinol-cytochrome C reductase core protein (UQCRC2), cyclooxygenase (COXIV), and ATP synthase subunit (ATP5<i>α</i>), respectively.
